Hitting the road, taking to the skies or taking the scenic route on a train with the littlies soon? No matter where you are on your journey, there are plenty of ways to pass the time and keep the kiddos engaged (and not asking “are we there yet??”) by playing the Bluey way!
Showing us how it’s done on their own Road Trip, Bluey finds herself following Chilli’s sage advice to “look around, something always pops up” when trying to alleviate her boredom. Inspired by the Heelers, you could play I-Spy, shops or finger jump over cows (trees or other cars work too). The options are endless when you look around!
As your travels continue, you can challenge your family to a game of Car Rainbow to see who can spot the most cars of a particular colour (like Bingo does in The Dump), pretend to be tour guides on your journey (like Bluey and Bingo with Bob Bilby or when they teach Bandit about the world in Born Yesterday) or let the kiddos plan their very own extravagant escape plan, filled with butlers and a Dream House Car (just like Bluey and Bingo’s in Escape).
With the journey winding on, everyone may feel like a moment of down time. Why not settle in for some story time by playing along to one of your favourite interactive Bluey stories in Bluey’s Library? Or let the kiddos request their favourite for real life fairytale (aka one of Mum or Dad’s most memorable childhood stories).
