DIY Bluey Granny Glasses

Here Come the Grannies… Glasses. Follow along to become your own versions of Janet and Rita.

Whether you’re going full granny mode or just fancy an afternoon craft, these glasses are exactly what you need.

Step-by-Step

MEthod

  1. Gather all your materials to make your very own Grannies glasses!
    Cardboard, pair of glasses, pencil, scissors purple felt, PVA glue, pipe cleaners.
  2. Using a pair of glasses as a guide, trace around them onto a piece of cardboard.
  3. Carefully cut out the cardboard glasses shape. (Please use scissors under adult supervision)
  4. Use the cardboard shape as a template to draw Grannies glasses onto purple felt.
  5. Cut around the outline, rounding the top to create a circular shape.
  6. Fold the glasses in half and carefully snip into the centre to create an opening, then cut out the eye holes.
  7. Glue the felt shape onto the cardboard glasses.
  8. Take two pipe cleaners and fold each one in half to make the arms of your glasses.
  9. Bend one end of each pipe cleaner to fit behind your ears, then bend the other end to create a tab for gluing.
  10. Glue or tape the pipe cleaner arms onto the sides of your cardboard glasses.
    (I used a glue gun to attach the pipe cleaners, but you can use PVA glue or tape to secure them).
  11. And there you have it! Your very own DIY Grannies glasses, perfect for your Bluey-inspired costume!
