The book features all-new illustrations by award-winning illustrator Gabriele Tafuni. She answered a few questions about reimagining the much-loved episode in LEGO DUPLO form:
What inspired your reimaginings of the characters?
Her favourite toy as a kid was LEGO, she says. “To create all the scenes from the cartoon, I’ve played a lot with the figures, trying different poses to gain a better understanding of their movement and to recreate that sense of wonder I had when I was little. It’s been a lot of fun even as an adult“
Do you have a favourite moment from the book so far?
Her favourite spreads are “Bluey and Bingo pretending to be dinosaurs or Bandit crashing on the cardboard Volcano – there is a nice sense of movement in all the exaggerated action. She adds that she enjoyed “recreating the characters as Monkeys as they look goofy“
