Treat time just got long and wiggly

Chocolate, peanut butter, and peanuts come together to make Bluey’s long, lovable sausage-dog friend! Tiny paws, waggy tails, and candy eyes make these treats as fun to decorate as they are to munch. Follow along in this recipe by Ella’s Play Bakes.

Note: A grown-up should handle all preparation and baking, but budding chefs can help – under supervision, of course!

Method:

Step one: making snickers

  1. Prep your piping bags
Place the chocolate pieces in one zip-lock bag and the peanut butter in another. Microwave the chocolate bag in 30-second bursts, squishing between bursts, until melted and smooth. Carefully cut a tiny tip off the end of each bag so you can pipe thin lines.
  2. Lay out the peanuts
On a tray or flat surface, arrange 3 peanuts loosely in a circular shape, and 5–7 peanuts in a line below for the body.
  3. Pipe the chocolate body
Using the chocolate bag, and a picture of snickers as a guide, cover all the peanuts to form Snickers’ body. Then pipe chocolate arms, legs, ears, and a tail, shaping it to look like Snickers the dog.
  4. Add the eyes
Stick two candy eyes onto the chocolate head so Snickers can see all the fun coming.

Step two: sort the snout, paws and hat

  1. Add the snout and paws
Pipe little peanut butter blobs for the paws and a snout. Top the snout with a tiny dot of chocolate for the nose.
  2. Make the hat
Cut a chocolate melt in half. One half becomes the top of Snickers’ cap, and the other half becomes the tiny front brim. Pop it on his head like a proper little hat.
  3. Freeze until firm
Pop your little doggies in the freezer until completely set.
  4. Devour!
Once hardened, these Snickers Bars are ready to munch. Make a bunch to share and enjoy!
