‘I wrote that song truly from my heart, in a very low place, in a very dark time … trying to reach for light … it’s pure love, and hope, and faith. When Joe first told me he wanted to put it in the show, I didn’t understand how it would work – a stylistic departure? Of course, I said yes anyway. I couldn’t ever have imagined the way he intended to use it, as such a beautiful statement, at the end. I feel beyond honoured, beyond gratitude, beyond my ability to express myself.
