January can be a tough old time of year. You may be bouncing into 2021 with a healthy dose of optimism, or already pondering life’s biggest questions, like… are fish kind?!

We all start the New Year with some big resolutions that can become harder to keep with every day that passes. If you can make it through January keeping just one of your resolutions… we’ve got a recommendation for you!

But the New Year probably started a little more like this…

HAPPY NEW YEAR! This year is going to be my year. I’ve got an order ready for getting more exercise, going to bed earlier, learning a new hobby, and generally being an amazing person.

I will resist the temptation to periodically check the fridge and eat ALL the cheese.

I will amaze all around me with newfound cooking skills, whipping up delicious meals for my kiddos.

I will find balance in my working routine and take lunch breaks every day.

I will basically reinvent myself and become an amazing human being.

I will eat a balanced diet and put greens on my plate and actually enjoy them.

I will take the kids to school on time and enjoy all that the great outdoors has to offer.

I will take up a new impressive hobby, such as ballroom dancing, or salsa, and impress my friends with my new moves and self-starter spirit.

I will go to bed on time and be unphased by my children’s early wake ups.

Generally, I will be winning at life.

But sooner or later… reality will hit home and sticking to resolutions will become a distant memory.

Day 3 of eating all the greens, becomes:

Kids continue to wake you up at the crack of dawn with their demands: monkey bars! Wagon rides! More Bluey!

Must. Eat. More. Greens. Polly wanna a cracker…not a brussel sprout…

The only running you do is away from your resolutions.

Sometimes life feels like a bit of a nood-ly mess.

But it’s all okay. Just remember, flowers may bloom again but a person never has the chance to be young again. So, instead of making lots of resolutions that are hard to stick to, spend 2021 achieving just one. Be sure to have fun with the people you love.
